Stronger played on BBC Introducing East Midlands
Our debut single Stronger got its first radio play tonight on BBC Introducing East Midlands. Dean Jackson and the Beat team put it on air for the whole region, two weeks after it came out.
We were ecstatic. Hearing your own song come out of the radio for the first time is a feeling none of us will forget. Shimara listened in with her family and friends and we caught the moment on video: watch Shimara's reaction to Stronger on BBC Introducing on our YouTube channel.
What is BBC Introducing?
BBC Introducing is the BBC's scheme for unsigned and undiscovered artists. Musicians upload their own tracks, and each region's team listens to everything that comes in and picks the best for radio. Acts it has championed early on include Ed Sheeran, Florence and the Machine and Little Simz. Our regional show is BBC Introducing in the East Midlands, presented by Dean Jackson, who has been breaking new music from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire for decades, on BBC Radio Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and on BBC Sounds.
Thank you to BBC Introducing for the support, and to everyone who messaged us while it was on. If you missed it, Stronger is on our music page and on every streaming service.
